Montblanc feminine Bohème Collection

Montblanc feminine Bohème Collection

The Bohème Collection from Montblanc, with four new timepieces, offers femininity and authenticity for the modern women. The collection introduces for the first time Maison’s exclusive in-house patented ExoTourbillon into its offering for women, honouring today’s sophisticated and independent ladies with the best of horology

Each dial of the Bohème Collection, emphasising elegance and femininity, features traditional decorations, such as guilloché, gem-setting, miniature gold-work or hand-painting, enhancing the refinement of each timepiece. The craftsmanship continues in the cases that feature slightly curved faceted horns, sculpted onion crowns, and bezels set with sparkling diamonds. The minute elegance of the Bohème design is further seen as leaf-shaped hands, floral Arabic numerals, minute scales with raised red gold-plated dots, and internal hour rings.

Letting the Bohème lady create her own personal look, Montblanc has fitted these new Bohème timepieces with an interchangeable strap mechanism that allows her to easily change straps with a simple release button that doesn’t require the use of any tools.

Montblanc Bohème ExoTourbillon Slim and Montblanc Bohème ExoTourbillon Slim Jewellery
The Bohème ExoTourbillon Slim combines sophistication, self-confidence and audaciousness. For the very first time, Montblanc is offering its patented ExoTourbillon automatic calibre MB M29.24 movement to the ladies. The one-minute ExoTourbillon, the result of three years of research and development, comes with a quick stop-second mechanism and a micro-rotor that are both created entirely in-house.

The ExoTourbillon outperforms standard tourbillon in two ways. Firstly, the weight of the cage of the ExoTourbillon is disconnected from the balance wheel, and secondly, the weight of the cage is minimal, thus resulting in higher precision and improved isochronism. The balance wheel has a diameter of 9.7 mm, which also plays an important part in the performance of the timepiece thanks to its impressive 18 screws – four of which can be adjusted, and 14 of which are fixed – further improving precision.

The barrel, with its 48-hour power reserve, is embedded inside the main plate. Its position within the architecture of the movement ensures optimal equilibrium between the barrel, the rotor and the balance wheel. The ExoTourbillon automatic calibre MB M29.24 incorporates a brand new micro-rotor that allows an uninterrupted view of the movement through a sapphire crystal case back and measures a mere 4.5 mm in height, a feat in itself for such a complex calibre.

A red arrow on the tourbillon cage indicates the seconds and features a practical quick stop-second mechanism, thanks to the construction of a whip, which halts the large screw balance with its 18 screws and restarts it on demand. This allows the user to set the time to the exact second and ensure an immediate restart of the movement. The quick stop-second mechanism instantly stops the balance from rotating, instead of halting the tourbillon cage, which can cause the balance to continue swinging and upset the precision of the watch. All the functions and operations are set via the crown at three o’clock.

Côtes de Genève “en éventail” decorates the bridges and micro-rotor, with mirror polishing on the tourbillon bridge in the shape of a twirling stick, satin-finishing on the main plate, and a sunray finishing on the plate below the micro-rotor.

The Montblanc Bohème ExoTourbillon Slim dial is made of silvery-white mother-of-pearl with a refined guilloché pattern, with the centre of the dial paved with 144 Top Wesselton diamonds (~0.531 carat). Both models feature 58 Top-Wesselton diamonds (~1.39 carat) set into the bezel and come in a new 38 mm red gold case size with a slim height of only 9.37 mm.

Other details include floral Arabic numerals with sensuous curves, an internal hour ring, and a minute track of precious red gold dots. The Montblanc Bohème ExoTourbillon Slim Jewellery comes with Montblanc’s interchangeable strap mechanism and a multitude of colourful calf straps. Both Bohème timepieces are tested and certified by the Montblanc Laboratory Test 500.
