H Moser & Cie.: Pioneering ventures
H Moser
Created by Heinrich Moser in 1828, H. Moser & Cie. has developed 12 in-house calibres to date and produces more than 1,500 watches per annum. H. Moser & Cie. manufactures parts such as regulating organs and balance-springs, which are used for its own production as well as to supply its partner companies. This year’s stunning offerings from the brand include the Venturer Tourbillon Sapphire, which recreates with baguette-cut sapphires the watchmaker’s iconic fumé dial. Other watches include new editions in Vantablack and tourbillons
H Moser Venturer Tourbillon Sapphire
The Venturer Tourbillon Sapphire – a unique piece – is a marvellous feat of transparency thanks to the sapphire case and dial fully set with sapphires. The baguette-cut sapphires adorning the fumé dial that showcase the HMC 802 Manufacture movement with one-minute tourbillon can be admired from all angles. The brand has used the case from the Venturer collection and created it entirely out of sapphire. The finish on the case flanks with its unusual shapes, the exquisite bezel, the curve of the dial and the crystal, the proportions are all amplified by the transparency of the sapphire. The interchangeable minute tourbillon at 6 o’clock is certainly eye-catching, while on the reverse is the solid gold engraved bidirectional rotor.
H Moser & Cie. Venturer Concept Vantablack
The Venturer Concept Vantablack combines the warm, gentle tones of 5N red gold with an ultra-black dial made from Vantablack. A Concept model, with neither logo nor indices, on a 39 mm Venturer case, this piece is a minimalist masterpiece. Regarded as the darkest substance in existence, Vantablack – used in astrophysical telescopes and by the army as thermal camouflage – is composed of carbon nanotubes that are vertically aligned next to each other and is capable of absorbing 99.965 % of light. At the heart of the timepiece beats the HMC 327 hand-wound manufacture calibre with small seconds. Visible through the sapphire case-back, this movement guarantees a minimum 3-day power reserve, displayed on an indicator on the reverse side of the watch.
H Moser & Cie. Pioneer Tourbillon
The Pioneer Tourbillon is a flying tourbillon equipped with a double hairspring offering a 3-day power reserve, and designed for everyday wear. Topped with a domed sapphire crystal, the case features structured sections on the sides and on the screw-in crown. Hardwearing and water-resistant to 120 metres, this 42.8-mm steel case houses the self-winding HMC 804 Manufacture calibre, visible behind the skeletonised bridge of the minute tourbillon. The skeletonised oscillating weight – of 18-carat solid red gold – transfers the energy to the barrel via a bi-directional pawl winding system, reducing the time required to fully wind the watch.
