Blancpain Villeret Collection adds Grand Date Complication
The fascinating complication makes its first appearance in this dazzling classical collection, oozing elegance, the practical design boasts two side-by-side windows, affording optimal readability
Emblematic of Blancpain’s most classical timepieces, the Villeret Collection’s Grand Date Complication encases the calibre 6950, which was conceived by the legendary brand’s watchmakers for the purpose of maximising the legibility of the date, while simultaneously enabling an instant change at midnight. Additionally, Blancpain’s watchmakers aimed to make sure that the mechanism would not considerably increase the movement’s profile; resulting in an automatic movement with two mainspring barrels and a date mechanism designed to resist shocks. The movement of the Villeret Grande Date timepiece is further distinguished by its free sprung balance with a silicium spiral and regulated by gold regulation screws.
The timeless values of traditional watchmaking are embodied in the restrained and sophisticated design of the timepieces that make up the Villeret Collection, and this new edition is in perfect harmony with the classical line. The distinctive Villeret elements are evident in this new grand date complication timepiece, as is exemplified by its red gold 40 mm double pommecase, opaline dial with applied Roman numerals, red gold hands, date display at 6 o’clock, and a transparent sapphire case back, which provides a glimpse into the finishing of the movement and its honeycomb-pattern oscillating weight. An elegant chocolate brown alligator strap adds the finishing touch to the Villeret Grande Date.
