De Bethune do it better with new zodiac inspired DB25T
“Not doing more, but instead doing better” is the slogan of the luxury watch manufacturer, De Bethune which has been aptly applied in the creation of the DB25T
With just 20 pieces available, the DB25T is an exclusive watch which takes its inspiration from the imposing clock towers that stand tall in most European cities today, enticing watch-makers to capture the beauty of the clocks into miniature versions to be worn on the wrist. Founders, David Zanetta and Denis Flageollet keenly share the vision of tomorrow’s watchmaking and have projected their insight into the latest zodiac-themed creation by De Bethune.
The DB25T’s unique dial is framed by a 44mm white gold case which has a thickness of 10.6mm. The attached hollowed lugs support an extra-supple alligator leather strap that fastens with a pin buckle. The outer ring of the dial is peppered with white gold stars that sit between 12 hand-engraved solid gold zodiac signs by artist Michèle Rothen. The inner ring prominently displays the Roman hour markers and in the centre of the dial, is silver-toned guilloche, which beautifully highlights the yellow gold hour and minutes’ hand. The striking feature of the dial is the slim central jumping seconds’ hand, crafted in blued steel that matches the blued mirror-polished titanium background of the outer ring.
The DB2109 calibre is a mechanical hand-wound movement that is visible through the transparent case back. The silicon-titanium tourbillon makes one rotation every 30 seconds at the optimal frequency of 36,000 VpH. Once fully wound, the watch has an astounding power reserve of 4 days.
