Tiffany & Co. unveils CT60 collection
The new Tiffany CT60 collection pays tribute to Charles Lewis Tiffany’s great skill and foresight that built a brilliant legacy of timepieces with an innovative design and a passion for excellence. The 2015 collection takes inspiration from the FDR timepiece that was crafted in gold and presented to the United States President, Franklin D. Roosevelt, on his birthday in 1945
The latest Tiffany watch collection is a tribute to the inventor of the New York Minute and reflects the modern pace of life in the 21st century by infusing an abundance of energy and ambition into each model. The CT60 masterpieces are powered by the finest Swiss pedigree movements that carry time-honoured techniques such as Côtes de Genève, Colimaçon and Perlage finishing.
Nicola Andreatta, vice president and general manager of the Tiffany & Co. Watch Centre in Switzerland, states: “The Tiffany CT60 pays tribute to Charles Lewis Tiffany, who invented the New York Minute and built a legacy as a jeweller and watchmaker of international renown. This exquisitely detailed timepiece marks the next milestone in this storied heritage of craftsmanship forged by Mr Tiffany, amid the boundless energy and creativity of New York City.”
The collection includes four models; a Calendar watch that is a merge of two soft shades, a chronograph watch that is available in stainless steel or 18K rose gold and a 3-hand timepiece that comes in two different sizes. Tiffany & Co. has also launched the Tiffany East West collection that is a unique creation which features a dial on its side, available in stainless steel and a black, white or blue dial.
Tiffany CT60 Calendar watch
This fusion of white and gold hues is crafted in 18K rose gold with a 40mm diameter case. Featuring a self-winding mechanical movement, the beautifully elegant white dial is adorned with gold Arabic numerals that are pointed to by rose gold hands that glow in the dark. The extreme outer ring of the dial illustrates a track of black numbers that represent the dates of the month which are indicated by a super thin hand that is crowned with a blue arrow. The seconds scale features black line markers that run alongside the outer track and is pointed to by a hand that is tipped with a red arrow. Just off-centre of the dial, is a small sub-dial that displays the months and is indicated to by a small silver hand. The watch is finished with a white soleil dial on a black alligator strap.
Tiffany CT60 Chronograph
Powered by a self-winding mechanical movement and available in eight variations, the Tiffany CT60 Chronograph comes in a 42mm diameter case that is crafted in a choice of stainless steel or 18K rose gold with matching straps. But that’s where the differences end, as positioned on either side of the textured crown are two pushers that activate the Chronograph feature which is one of the same features displayed on every watch in the collection. Other comparable functions on the dial are the two sub-dials that are positioned at 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock; the former counter illustrates the passing minutes while the latter disc displays the passing seconds. Keeping in line with the other timepieces in the CT60 Chronograph collection, the date aperture is carved at the 6 o’clock position while the hours and minutes function are indicated by steel or rose gold hands that glow luminous in the dark. Alongside the Arabic hour numerals, sits the Chronograph seconds track that is positioned on the outer circle of the dial and is pointed to by a thin hand tipped with a red arrow. Perhaps, one of the most striking timepieces in the chronograph line is the vivid blue soleil dial that is accentuated by the matching blue alligator strap used to complete the watch. The stainless steel case and lugs house the standard dial format, and is also available with a stainless steel bracelet to match.
Tiffany CT60 3-Hand
The Tiffany CT60 3-Hand timepiece is powered by a self-winding movement and is available in two case sizes; the 34mm and the 40mm that come with or without a diamond encrusted bezel. Each size has an option of a stainless steel case or 18K rose gold case with a matching leather strap or steel bracelet. The dial of the watch is kept minimal, limited to just hours and minutes and passing seconds that is pointed to by a long thin hand tipped with a red arrow and situated at the bottom of the dial is the date window that occupies the 6 o’clock position. Amongst the six 34mm variations, the model that stands out the most is the 18k rose gold case that features a row of dazzling round-cut brilliant diamonds fitted into the bezel that frames a brown soleil dial. The sophisticated timepiece is completed with a brown alligator strap. The most striking Tiffany CT60 3-Hand 40mm watch from the eight available variations is the vivid blue soleil dial on a matching blue alligator strap. But if you are going for the classic look, try the stainless steel case with a grey soleil dial that is fitted with on a matching coloured alligator strap, both timepieces can be worn day or night.
Tiffany East West
There are three variations in the East West models, where the dial has been flipped on its side making it one of the most unique timepieces in Tiffany history. All models are available in stainless steel and measure dimensions of 44 x 25mm that form the shape of a rectangle case with a simple rectangular dial that comes in a choice of white, black or blue. Accompanying the Tiffany & Co. logo are Arabic numerals that indicate the time with stainless steel hands in silver or blue that are powered by a quartz movement. The timepiece is finished with either a black or blue alligator leather strap.
