Chopard collaborates with Marion Cotillard
Ultimate luxury, ultimate refinement and superior gems are poured into the latest pieces from the House of Chopard. This year, in collaboration with Marion Cotillard, the brand is adding a design to the Green Carpet collection
The Green Carpet collection is created using fairmined gold that comes from certified mines around the world. Fairmined gold is unearthed by workers who are kept in the very best conditions, where access to health and safety equipment and procedures are a necessary requirement. Co-President Caroline Scheufele is working alongside French actress and singer-songwriter, Marion Cotillard, who also happens to be an active environmentalist, to create a new design of hand jewellery that will complement existing pieces in the collection.
Caroline Scheufele is keen on the new partnership and states, “I’ve known Marion Cotillard for a long time, ever since the day when, as a young actress, she received the Trophée Chopard in Cannes – a trophy that rewards particularly promising young talents. I’ve been regularly following her film career as well as her commitments to protecting the environment. This collaboration arose quite naturally as her designs for hand jewellery reminds me of all the hands that work on crafting these exceptional models: from mining the stones through to gem-setting. It’s a beautiful symbol. Marion also designed a model that corresponds to her that she would like to wear. She likes the mix of styles and eras; the rich colour palette of these opals associated with diamonds inspired her Art Deco hand jewel.”
Marion Cotillard and Caroline Scheufele combined their creativity and their commitment to sustainable luxury to create a unique jewellery piece, worn on the hand, that will be presented by Chopard at the forthcoming Cannes Film Festival in May. This creation introduces a new material to the Green Carpet Collection in the form of traceable and sustainably sourced Australian opals fused with fairmined gold.
