Arnold & Son unites exquisite, hand-painted floral designs with the fine art of Haute Horlogerie in a special edition of stunning timepieces

The HM Flower Special Editions from Arnold & Son are four very special timepieces that celebrate four stunning flowers gifted to us by Mother Nature; a magenta-coloured orchid, yellow and purple irises, and a wonderful orange lily. These intricate illustrations appeal to women who appreciate fine watch-making with an added touch of aesthetic glamour that effortlessly complements any outfit.

Each of the four models on offer depicts a hand-painted illustration of a flower in full bloom, where the rich, deep colours of the petals are highlighted against a stunning white mother-of-pearl dial. The expertly applied layers of paint and nuances of colour create a breathtaking sense of three-dimensional depth that is enclosed in an 18 carat rose gold case measuring 40mm in diameter. As Philippe Boven of Arnold & Son explains, “The art of hand-painting miniatures takes many years of concentrated practice to perfect, and these exquisite flowers presented our specialists with an ideal opportunity to showcase their skills.”

The resplendent dial is absent of hour markers, instead prominently featuring baton-style hands that journey around a circle of modest dot indices that are illustrated on the outer edge of the dial. Whilst concealed behind the dial, is an Arnold & Son manufacture hand-wound movement A&S1001, created entirely in-house with Haute Horlogerie finishing, boasting 21 jewels. All the plates and bridges of the movement are hand-chamfered and decorated, a further testimony to the traditional craftsmanship upheld by Arnold & Son throughout its long successful history.

Twin barrels generate a 90 hour power reserve and guarantees a concept known as “constant force,” which in turn provides a more constant rate of power resulting in greater timekeeping accuracy. As a whole, the movement measures 30mm in diameter and hums at a steady cadence of 21,600 vibrations per hour. Anti-reflective sapphire crystals protect the timepiece’s source of power and at the same time help safeguard the movement from water damage up to a depth of 30 metres.

The HM Flower edition is limited to just eight editions per model and is available with or without a diamond-set bezel that is presented on a colour co-ordinated leather strap.
