High watchmaker and haute joaillerie maison Dior has unveiled new editions of its Chiffre Rouge watch collection as well as tantalising pieces of jewellery to its La Rose Dior collection. We bring you a sneak peek at these marvellous creations
Chiffre Rouge collection
Between tradition and metamorphosis, the Chiffre Rouge watch is enhanced by Dior’s most iconic codes. Its bold edge is reaffirmed by an architectural asymmetry – the case revealing subtly enlarged and tapered sides – while its red crown and matching hands twirl in a mesmerising ballet. A tonality of intense character referred to as the “colour of life”, by the founding-couturier, a unique signature.
The number eight, Monsieur Dior’s favourite, is the other emblem of this creation; it is the only figure in the calendar – indicating the date – to be sublimated in this vibrant hue, like a marvellous lucky charm reappearing every month. The cannage, eternal symbol of Dior, unfurls, sumptuously engraved on the dial and oscillating weight.
Recently reinterpreted, this extraordinary collection is complemented by two new models in a limited edition of 100 each, with a couture aesthetic. Playing with masculine-feminine contrasts, these pieces are punctuated here and there – on the dial or on the hour hands – with exquisitely refined rose gold finishes.
Irresistibly singular, these objects of desire come in two exceptional variations: a 38mm automatic watch and a 41mm automatic chronograph. Echoing Christian Dior’s legacy, and in particular his passion for red, these timepieces feature interchangeable grey bracelets that dare to mix-and-match materials, with a rubber strap adorned with macrocannage for the 38mm version, or in precious leather for the 41mm one.
La Rose Dior Collection
Fascinated by Christian Dior’s unconditional passion for nature, Victoire de Castellane has brought to life unique new pieces for the La Rose Dior collection. Unveiled in rose gold, the Rose Dior Bagatelle models offer new ways of being worn, such as a choker enhanced with a black velvet ribbon, while the Bois de Rose creations – mono ear jewels and earcuffs – come in variations dressed, by turns, in rose or yellow gold.
An ode to the flower-fetish of Monsieur Dior, constantly reinterpreted through the virtuoso savoir-faire of the Ateliers.
