Interviews

MCT today

“Day & Night Magazine” caught up with Pierre Jacques, the CEO of MCT, on the side lines of the Dubai Watch Week. We bring you excerpts from our chat

Q:What are the changes that you have implemented since you took over as CEO of MCT ten months ago?
A:The changes are not visible yet, but the job was a huge one. I didn’t know the MCT universe very well; I had to meet my team; understand the flaws and strengths; find a way to motivate the older staff; and reorganise so that we operate effectively.

Now we are close to producing 100 pieces this year. We also participated in a number of shows around the world, such as Baselworld and SIHH; we have opened key points of sale (POS) across the world; and are preparing to unveil a new calibre for the tenth anniversary of MCT.

This is a complete movement, which is a new way of displaying time, and will be launched at the SIHH. Denis Giguet, the founder of MCT, came back in May to help us regain the same value that the brand enjoyed in 2007.

Q:How many POS does MCT have worldwide?
A:We have around 30 POS to retail less than 100 watches; all at premium locations with the best retailers.

Q:When will the watch with the new movement be launched?
A:The new watch will be available to the public in June, but the press can preview at Baselworld, where we will exhibit along with Moser, Hautlence, and Romain Jerome.

Q:Can you give us a hint on the price range of the new watch?
A:This is a bit too early for us to talk about the price, but it will be slightly lower than the current Sequential.
