An artistic homage to Bonaparte from Montblanc
This new limited-edition collection of writing instruments from Montblanc honours the legacy of the French emperor Napoléon Bonaparte, whose cultural influence can still be experienced today
Napoléon Bonaparte (1769-1821) was the French Emperor, 1804 to 1814, and again briefly in 1815 before his exile and death in 1821. He ignited the revival of decorative arts and the era of Napoléon is regarded as the “Golden Age of French Craftsmanship”.
To create the four Montblanc Patron of Art Homage to Napoléon Editions, Montblanc has leaned into the métiers d’art – gold work, lacquering, gem-setting, cameo engraving – to tell Napoléon’s story of a meteoric rise from soldier to consul to French emperor. The neo-classic style of the writing instruments combines geometric design and pure lines with rich decorations.
The collection includes the Montblanc Patron of Art Homage to Napoléon Bonaparte Limited Edition 4810; the Montblanc Patron of Art Napoléon Bonaparte Limited Edition 888; the Montblanc Patron of Art Napoléon Bonaparte Limited Edition 92; and the Montblanc Patron of Art Limited Edition 8.
To complement the collection, Montblanc has created matching stationery and accessories including a blue calfskin notebook printed with bees, imperial blue ink and steel round cufflinks set blue lacquer and embellished with bees.
