Bvlgari brings Rome to London
Bvlgari hosted a red-carpet, invitation-only gala to showcase the renovation of its boutique on New Bond Street in London
The party, which had “Italian glamour” as its dress code, was attended by Carla Bruni, Luke Evans, HSH Princess Lilly Zu Sayn Wittgenstein Berleburg, Carmen Giannattasio, Camilla Rutherford, David Furnish, Sai Bennett, Sam Rollinson, Sienna Guillory, Tiphaine de Lussy, Toby Huntington-Whiteley, Ella Catliff and David Jarre. Special guest and brand ambassador Carla Bruni dazzled in exquisite high jewellery, wearing a 14ct Columbian emerald necklace and matching 43ct emerald ring, which were complemented by an iconic Serpenti diamond high jewellery bracelet.
The invitation-only, Italian glamour-inspired soiree began with guests being treated on arrival to illuminated projections of Roman icons on the storefront. After a short ribbon-cutting ceremony, the new store design was revealed to the invitees with a champagne reception inside its doors, where Italian opera star soprano Carmen Giannattasio sang Giacomo Puccini’s “O Mio Babbino Caro” with live piano accompaniment by Angelo Villani and talented David Jarre entertained with a magic show.
Bvlgari ambassadors Carla Bruni and Princess Lilly Zu Sayn Wittgenstein Berleburg, who also wore spectacular high jewellery from the Giardini Italiani collection, and Luke Evans sporting an exquisite Octo watch dominated the party floor.
The boutique, the masterful creation of Peter Marino, has incorporated Roman marble-inspired designs onto the high-profile shopping locale, to interplay ancient tradition and contemporary design. The celebrated architect was entrusted with the transformation of the London boutique on the heels of the Roman flagship, which he completed in 2014 for Bvlgari’s 130th anniversary.
