Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards celebrates its first decade

After ten years of holding the annual Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards, the luxury Maison continues to be deeply committed to supporting entrepreneurial initiatives from around the world

In conjunction with the successful Global Women’s Forum Dubai that took place from the 23rd to the 24th of February 2016 at the Madinat Jumeirah, the Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards officially kicked off the celebration of its fruitful ten years.

Cartier hosted two sessions at the event where previous Cartier Women’s Initiative Award winners discussed how the initiative has supported and helped them to drive their projects forward. A special report, developed in collaboration with INSEAD, about the outcomes and impact of the Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards over the past decade was released during Global Women’s Forum Dubai, to commemorate the ten-year anniversary of the programme. Moreover, Cartier hosted a private gala dinner for the delegates of Global Women’s Forum Dubai on the first day of the event.

Over the past decade, the Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards has become synonymous with supporting creative excellence around the world, as more than 160 entrepreneurs from 45 countries have experienced first-hand. Established by Cartier, the Women’s Forum for the Economy & Society, the INSEAD business school and McKinsey & Company, the Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards is an annual business plan competition, which awards six laureates with US$20,000 in funding, personalised coaching for one year, networking and visibility opportunities. The awards are open to female entrepreneurs leading a creative, for-profit start-up with financial sustainability and social impact.
