Four timepieces are two-tone featuring a Lucent Steel A223 case embellished with ethical 18-carat rose gold, while three are entirely crafted from ethical 18-carat rose gold – all available on a leather strap or metal bracelet. An eighth version in ethical 18-carat white gold is entirely set with diamonds. All of them beat to the rhythm of the Chopard Manufacture 09.01-C movement with automatic winding and each dial is graced with the legendary dancing diamonds.

By using the golden ratio in direct relation to the diameter of the Chopard 09.01-C movement with automatic winding powering its ladies’ watch collections, the case of the Happy Sport has been redesigned in a 33 mm diameter that is particularly well-suited to the female wrist.

This quest for the ideal has now been achieved by using the golden ratio. Since antiquity, this mathematical balance has been found in science as well as in art and architecture, reproducing the harmony prevailing in Nature.
Chopard’s artisans are thus introducing a series of models adorned with a silver-toned dial graced with a central guilloché motif and five dancing diamonds. With a case in Lucent Steel A223, ethical 18-carat rose gold or a two-tone version, teamed with a leather strap or metal bracelet and adorned with a diamond-set or polished bezel, they are available in a variety of colours to suit every taste. Stemming from four years of research and development, Lucent Steel A223 is an anti-allergenic alloy that is brighter and sturdier than ordinary steel. Finally, it testifies to Chopard’s commitment to sustainable luxury: Lucent Steel A223 is 70% made from recycled materials, in a state-of-the-art workshop located in Austria, thereby limiting the carbon footprint relating to shipping materials to Chopard’s Swiss workshops.
To round out the collection, a jewellery version is also available in ethical 18-carat white gold, entirely set with diamonds and featuring a mother-of-pearl dial.

What do dancing diamonds evoke for you?
They inspire freedom, first because the diamonds are free inside the watch, which is different from the immobile diamonds we usually see. In this instance they dance, so they also inspire lightness and happiness, which I feel is very pleasant and joyful.
What is so special about Chopard?
Chopard is a very sophisticated maison, with everlasting style. When someone is wearing a Chopard piece, one feels particularly chic. What I like the most about it is that while this watch is very elegant and luxurious, it is not only suited to big events, but I can also pair it with my daily outfits. It goes perfectly with jeans. Most of all, it is timeless: I feel like a mother could pass on her Chopard watch to her daughter or her granddaughter and it will never date.
How would you style your Happy Sport watch?
The Happy Sport watch goes with virtually everything. You can style it with jeans, with a bracelet or you can just wear it on its own, maybe with a t-shirt. But I can also wear it for a date night, or when I am going out for dinner. It is so versatile that you almost never need to take it off your wrist. I love watching the diamonds moving and whenever I look at the watch, it brings me joy. I also love to style the diamond-set Happy Sport with a black dress for special events. Although it goes perfectly with all colours, I tend to wear it with black and with not much extra jewellery. It is highly valuable on its own and is usually the masterpiece of the whole outfit.
