Chopard launches eponymous collection with Rihanna
Chopard reveals collaboration with Rihanna to create the “Rihanna ♥ Chopard ” collections – two new co-designed joaillerie lines that will be launched in Summer 2017
High jewellery and watchmaking maison Chopard announced a partnership with superstar Rihanna – a bold and modern style icon – to launch the RIHANNA ♥ CHOPARD collections, which capture her unique vision and spirit. Rihanna and Chopard Co-President and Creative Director, Caroline Scheufele, worked closely together to combine their creativity and passion to develop the Haute Joaillerie and Joaillerie collections that blend urban chic with classic glamour.
The love story between Rihanna and Chopard has been developing on red carpets all over the world for the past few years. Now, this dazzling duo has partnered to push Haute Joaillerie beyond conventional limits to create a modern collection inspired by Rihanna’s island roots in the lush gardens of Barbados and the electricity of Carnival.
The vibrant collection will debut in May 2017 to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Festival de Cannes and celebrate Chopard’s 20th year as the official partner of the Cannes Film Festival. Rihanna gave a sneak peek of the collection during the recent Grammy Awards, when she dazzled in a one-of-a-kind pair of floral-inspired multi-coloured chandelier earrings and marquise-cut diamond solitaire ring. On the March 2017 cover of “Harper’s Bazaar”, the singer sparkled in a pair of transformable diamond earrings from the collection.
Inspired by her effortless confidence infused with strength, the limited edition RIHANNA ♥ CHOPARD Joaillerie Collection is defined by minimalist geometry and sharp, clean lines. A synergy of urban modernism and pure design gives Chopard’s classic Ice Cube shape a powerful sense of self and introduces new designs and coloured ceramic into the line.
The RIHANNA ♥ CHOPARD Haute Joaillerie Collection includes Earrings in 18ct white gold and titanium set with blue, pink and yellow sapphires, tsavorites, rubellites, green beryls, aquamarines, Paraiba tourmalines, rubies, amethysts, topazes, lazulites and diamonds.
Another pair of Earrings in 18ct white ethical gold certified Fairmined featuring four pear-shaped diamonds (9.7cts) and set with brilliant-cut (5.2cts), pear-shaped (4.7cts), oval-cut and marquise-cut diamonds. All diamonds are sourced from a producer who is a RJC certified member.
The RIHANNA ♥ CHOPARD Joaillerie Collection has a Necklace in 18ct rose ethical gold certified Fairmined and green ceramic.
Linear rectangular motifs link frosty rose gold cubes with solid ceramic blocks in a colour personally selected by Rihanna – Jungle Green. Crafted from 18ct rose ethical gold certified Fairmined, the 9-piece capsule collection – with icy polished or diamond set gold cubes – will be available in June with pre-orders from now at all Chopard boutiques.
