Christie’s launches new online horological course

Christie’s Education announced the launch of a new online course “History of Watches: 1700 to Now”, starting September17. This unique five-week video-based programme will introduce the development of watches from their first appearance in the pocket to today’s wristwatches, bringing together science, engineering and incredible artistry. Students will learn the features of the mechanical watch through custom animations, as well as hear first-hand about the development of the industry from prestigious designers and historians. The online course is currently available in English, with a Mandarin subtitled version coming up in 2020. Course and registration details are available on the Christie’s Education website.
