F.P.Journe Le Restaurant opens in Geneva

The opening of “F.P.Journe Le Restaurant” is the fruit of an encounter between two epicureans: chef Dominique Gauthier and François-Paul Journe. This establishment at 49 Rue du Rhône – a storied Geneva bistro gem – has, since it opened in 1912 as the famous “La Bavaria” brasserie, been frequented by the elite of the League of Nations as well as ministers, heads of state and journalists from all over the world. Giving the establishment a strong horological identity, the walls are adorned with technical drawings of movements, the tables named after famous watchmakers, and the menus reference models of the brand. In pride of place is an 17th-century astronomical clock, signed “Giovanni Brugell Venetia”. In the kitchen, Dominique Gauthier, a highly skilled and experienced chef, reigns.
