Fabergé unveils new 007 creations

Fabergé and James Bond reveal new additions to the Fabergé x 007 collaboration, including a new egg surprise locket in celebration of the 60th anniversary of Goldfinger (1964) and a ring to join the Fabergé x 007 Octopussy capsule collection

The first piece to be unveiled in the new Fabergé x 007 Goldfinger capsule collection is the Fabergé x 007 Egg Safe Locket with Ruby Heart Surprise. This 18k yellow gold locket is inspired by the Fort Knox gold depository safe, a central part of the film’s plot. It is in an egg shape, which opens to reveal a responsibly mined Gemfields Mozambican heart-shaped ruby encased within.

This is the first time Fabergé has created an egg surprise locket which opens in this fashion. The ruby heart nestled inside is dripping in gold and represents Goldfinger’s passion for gold and is a reference to the title song lyrics, “He loves only gold.” The bail of the pendant is inspired by the shape of the ‘G’, for Goldfinger, and in the same font, like the signet ring that the character wears in the film.

The Fabergé x 007 Octopussy Ring is crafted from 18k brushed yellow gold and is a show-stopping octopus that wraps around the wearer’s finger. Forty-eight round brilliant-cut diamonds, which represent the octopus’ suckers, sparkle on the tentacles, one appearing to climb up the finger when worn, while two round brilliant cut diamonds characterise its eyes.

In keeping with Fabergé’s penchant for surprise, a responsibly mined Gemfields Mozambican ruby is hidden on the inside of the ring band, a secret only the wearer will know. The octopus pays homage to the eponymous antagonist at the centre of the Octopussy film.

These new creations join the Fabergé x 007 Octopussy Egg Surprise Locket and Limited-Edition Fabergé x 007 Octopussy Egg Objet, which were revealed in March 2024. Designed by Fabergé Head of Design, Liisa Tallgren, and overseen by Fabergé Creative Director, Josina von dem Bussche-Kessell, the Fabergé x 007 creations are a symphony of past, present and future, with nods to two legendary James Bond films.

Destined to interest collectors and aficionados all around the world, this is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to own pieces inspired by cinematic history.
