Garrard designs prestigious Bahrain International Trophy

On 20 November, 2020, a bespoke Garrard trophy was presented to the owner of the winning horse at the Bahrain International Trophy. Designed and handcrafted by Garrard, the new design for 2020 is an evolution of the 2019 trophy, which was also created by the House. The trophy’s lid features a single silver pearl, acknowledging Bahrain’s long tradition of pearl diving. With scrolled handles and a row of galloping racehorses it also includes the coat of arms of Bahrain and is supported by an elegant mahogany and sterling silver base measuring an impressive 45cm. Unlike a perpetual trophy, which is held temporarily until the next edition of an event, the winner of the Bahrain International Trophy is allowed to keep their award. For 2020, the victorious jockey and trainer were also given a bespoke sterling silver snuffbox crafted by Garrard and hand-engraved with the Bahrain International Trophy logo.
