H. Moser & Cie. says “No to Swiss Made, Yes to Swissness”
Protesting against new legislations which require that 60 per cent of the watch components must be of Swiss origin in order to be considered eligible for the Swiss Made label, H. Moser & Cie. will no longer use that label. The Schaffhausen-based Manufacture, whose own production processes are over 95 per cent Swiss, says that it would have welcomed a much stricter standard, matching its extremely high criteria. For this reason, the marque has decided to forgo the Swiss Made label, and from 2017, this legend will no longer appear on the dial of any new creations of the brand. Taking this approach further, on January 12, 2017, at the SIHH, H. Moser & Cie. is launching what it is billing as the most Swiss watch ever created – a watch in red fumé, produced in Switzerland, by Swiss watchmakers, and using materials of Swiss origin.
