In 2012, Harry Winston took an innovative approach to creating bold timepieces using two ancient art forms that were a rare concept in the horology world. By combining traditional watchmaking and  “plumasserie”, the art of feather placement, they crafted unusual dials that raised the platform for aesthetically pleasing luxury timepieces.

The Midnight Feathers Automatic is adorned with goose-feather marquetry on a rich new canvas. The animal inspired dial is simple yet striking, evoking images of finely textured fabrics. Each silky feather is carefully hand-selected, shaped and then placed under a magnifying glass, so as to ensure optimal precision, before being laid on the dial. The hour and minutes hands are sculpted from 18K rose-gold that point to absent hour markers.

The 42mm 18K rose-gold case is the perfect complement to the masculine brown alligator strap that leads to a polished 18K rose gold pin buckle. These warm contemporary tones enhance the luxurious shades of the meticulously placed feathers that feature on the hand-crafted dial.  The transparent sapphire crystal case-back reveals the refined self-winding mechanical movement that drive the hours and minutes functions with flawless precision.
