ID Genève raises CHF2 million in 2023 with Leonardo DiCaprio and others

Swiss luxury watchmaker and circular economy pioneer ID Genève is all set to accelerate growth with its success in raising funds in 2023. The watchmaker was able to raise CHF2 million seed money with the participation of Leonardo DiCaprio and several Swiss family offices. Founded in 2020, ID Genève crafts luxury mechanical timepieces according to circular economy principles, championing ethically sourced and recycled materials, and low-carbon footprint processes. This investment round enables ID Genève to maintain growth momentum and gives the company a louder voice in championing sustainable practices but also inspire and challenge the luxury sector to prioritise and innovate in environmental responsibility. The watchmaker’s inaugural Circular 1 watch collection launched in 2021 sold out within weeks. Their latest watch collection, Circular S, is made from 100% recycled steel that has been remelted in a solar furnace, reducing its carbon footprint by a factor of 165.
