Jaeger-LeCoultre warms the hearts of men

Jaeger-LeCoultre has developed 1,249 mechanical calibres and boasts 413 registered patents that illustrate the creative passion which continually drives the skilled craftsmen at the Grande Maison. Right from its founding in 1833, the Manufacture has asserted itself through technical advances that soon earned its timepieces a benchmark status in terms of precision

In 2015, the Manufacture in the Vallée de Joux is keen to share its fascination for the movements of the heavenly bodies by adopting an astral theme to draw upon inexhaustible sources of inspiration and to use them as means of expressing its skill for the new collection, specifically designed for men.

Duomètre Sphérotourbillon Moon

The designers at Jaeger-LeCoultre tried something a little different with the reliable Moonphase feature by placing it at 3 o’clock, integrating it within the main dial, instead of the usual 6 o’clock position on the Duomètre Sphérotourbillon Moon timepiece. Equipped with a Moonphase that is designed to remain accurate for a full 3,887 years, the limited edition watch is powered by a mechanical manual winding 389 calibre that consists of 476 parts, 56 jewels and has a power reserve of 45 hours. Held within the platinum case that measures 42mm in diameter and 14.3mm in thickness, is a grained, silver-toned dial that prominently features the Sphérotourbillon at 9 o’clock, which completes a full turn around the axis of its titanium carriage, and also spins around a second axis inclined at a 20° angle – a nod to the inclination of the earth.

Geophysic® 1958

The Geophysic® watch is an exceptional precision instrument that is a tribute to science. Jaeger-LeCoultre unveiled three exclusive models that have been added to the Geophysic range; a model in steel, which is limited to 800 pieces, an 18K pink gold version, which is a limited edition of 300 pieces and a model in platinum, which is limited to just 58 pieces . These timepieces are driven by an automatic 898/1 calibre that stores 43 hours of power reserve and beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour.  A 38.5mm diameter case protects the grained white dial within that supports three central dagger-shaped hands that are used to indicate the hours, minutes and seconds.  Water-resistant to 100 metres, each version of the Geophysic® watch is fitted with an alligator leather strap that is secured by an unusual pin buckle in colours matching the metal of the case.

Master Calendar

The new Master Calendar is inspired by astronomy, and features an exclusive meteorite stone dial that has been composed of a single block of meteorite which was initially discovered and registered in Sweden.  The polished dial houses the watch functions and lies under Dauphine-style hour and minute hands and an extra-long hand tipped with a red moon crescent that sweeps around a scale of the dial rim graduated from 1 to 31 to indicate the date of the month. Two twin apertures in the upper part of the dial illustrate the day and the month by using three characters each, while at the bottom of the dial, a separate sub-dial highlights the Moonphase function with an outer ring that displays the small seconds. The 39mm diameter case measures 10.6mm in thickness and is available in steel or 18K pink gold and is designed to adapt to the curve of any wrist. Energised by mechanical automatic winding 866 calibre, the watch has ample power reserve of 43 hours and consists of 305 components and 32 jewels.

Master Grande Tradition Grande Complication

The Master Grande Tradition Grande Complication brings the complexity of the universe to the wrist by allowing the measurement of hours and minutes, combined with an orbital flying tourbillon, minute repeater and a month and 24-hour indicator in a sky chart dial. Measuring 45mm in diameter, the 18K pink gold case is satin-brushed and bears a thickness of 15.8mm, in which the mechanical manually-wound 945 Jaeger-LeCoultre calibre is housed.  Consisting of 527 parts and 49 jewels, the movement hums at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, allowing the watch to store a sufficient power reserve of 40 hours. The Master Grande Tradition Grande Complexity expresses the complexity of the universe around us, whose stunning reality can be viewed with a single glance at the wrist.

Master Grande Tradition Tourbillon Cylindrique à Quantième Perpétuel

Unlike its detailed and exhaustive name, this new creation from Jaeger- LeCoultre is intended to be both comprehensive and precise. The 18K white gold case houses a complex flying tourbillon that is secured behind a titanium cage and a perpetual calendar that are both featured on a blue grained dial, complete with polished silver baton-type appliques and a traditional transferred minute circle. The Moonphase function and the day of the week are positioned at 3 o’clock on a discmade of lapis lazuli, while at 12 o’clock, the zodiac signs appear on another circular disc alongside the date, year and month. The watch has been designed by the Manufacture to ensure smooth handling and optimal adjustment by means of a single push-piece. Simply setting the correct date automatically adjusts the month, year and moon-phase indications.  Poweredby a mechanical automatic 985 calibre, the watch has a power reserve of 45 hours and beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour.

Master Grande Tradition Tourbillon Orbital

Inspired by the rise of the sun, the Master Grande Tradition Tourbillon Orbital, prominently displays the tourbillon at the 6 o’clock position from which rays of sunlight in the form of dazzling baguette-cut diamonds radiate. The 3D effect dial holds the tourbillon that is designed to reproduce the movement of the earth, which makes a complete turn on its axis and in relation to the vernal point in 23 hours, 56 minutes and four seconds – namely a full sidereal day.  Energised by a mechanical manually-wound 946 calibre, which consists of 334 parts and 35 jewels, the watch stores an ample power reserve of 48 hours and hums at a steady 28,000 vibrations per hour. Dauphine style hands are housed in a 42mm 18K white gold case that is 13.2mm thick, making the watch water resistant to a depth of 50 metres.
