Ladies fall for Jaeger LeCoultre creations
Swiss Manufacture, Jaeger LeCoultre, showcased its exclusive range of High Jewellery timepieces at the Salhia Mall in Kuwait City for the first time in its 182 year history
Jaeger-LeCoultre has always paid particular attention to feminine creations, in terms of their aesthetic elegance and mechanisms, even from the early 1880’s when the Manufacture developed the first round movements with miniature diameters, such as the LeCoultre Calibre 7HP, which was used to power ornamental watches that were enamelled, sometimes set with diamonds and pearls and worn around the neck.
The brand’s watches begin life in the Vallée de Joux workshops and become vibrant on the wrist of the men and women who wear it. The seminal exhibition that took place on the 4th of February to the 14th of February focused on wristwatches especially created for women, where stunning pieces brought together Haute Horlogerie enthusiasts from around the GCC. The impressive event boasted invention, savoir-faire and heritage that was keenly displayed in each timepiece, some of which were Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-Vous Art with rubies and sapphires, the Rendez-Vous Celestial, Reverso Cordonnet Duetto, the Rendez-Vous Perpetual Calendar, Rendez-Vous Tourbillon Wild and the instantly recognisable Reverso-Duetto-Classique.
The Rendez-Vous collection is renowned for its distinctly feminine and contemporary exterior accompanied with an equal dose of complex mechanisms. Functions such as moonphase, day/night indicator, chronograph and calendars that were once designed for men now feature in the women’s range. Beneath the graceful exterior of the Rendez-Vous beats an impeccably regular mechanical automatic movement which can be admired through the sapphire crystal case back.
