Montblanc New Watches: Mark Goodwood Festival of Speed
Montblanc celebrated its second year as The Official Timing Partner of The Goodwood Festival of Speed and celebrated the spirit of racing with the new TimeWalker Limited Edition, inspired by Minerva’s rich 160-year history
From July 12 to 15, the impressive sporting estate of Goodwood was transformed into the Festival of Speed, one of the greatest festivals of car culture in the world today and an important fixture on the British social calendar.
Founded 25 years ago in June 1993, the Festival celebrated its Silver Jubilee this year with a presentation of its founder’s – the Duke of Richmond (formerly Lord March) – 25 most memorable moments through an exhibition of cars and the drivers who created them.
As Official Timing Partner for the second year running, Montblanc lent its timekeeping expertise to the numerous races that took place over the four-day event.
The champion of the 2018 Festival was awarded the Montblanc TimeWalker Manufacture Chronograph “Cappuccino” edition.
New Montblanc watches
During the Goodwood event, and in a few selected boutiques, Montblanc presented two new limited edition models inspired by the colour of the tropical dial effect – a Manufacture Chronograph and an Automatic Date.
The dials are beige with brown counters and brown flanges and have been fondly nicknamed the “Cappuccinos,” thanks to their warm and harmonious colour scheme.
Montblanc TimeWalker Manufacture Chronograph Limited Edition
A limited edition of 1,500 pieces, the TimeWalker Manufacture Chronograph houses a Montblanc Manufacture Calibre MB 25.10, a mechanical movement with automatic winding, chronograph and date.
Boasting a power reserve of approximately 46 hours, the timepiece features a “Panda” dial with “Cappuccino” beige background and brown counters and comes with a Sfumato, aged, calf leather strap from the Montblanc Pelletteria in Florence, Italy.
Housed in a stainless steel, satin-finished case, with a fixed black ceramic bezel, the watch is water-resistant to 100 m.
Montblanc TimeWalker Date Automatic Limited Edition
Housing the Calibre MB 24.17 mechanical movement with automatic winding and date, the Montblanc TimeWalker Date Automatic is a limited edition of 500 pieces.
Displaying the hours, minutes and seconds from the centre, the watch has a 12-hour scale on the unidirectional rotating bezel with a date window at 3 o’clock.
Boasting a power reserve of approximately 38 hours, the timepiece features a “Cappuccino” beige dial, a stainless steel case with brown Sfumato, aged, calf leather strap and is water-resistant to 100m.
