Inspired by the Montblanc Minerva pocket watches that were made during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, such as the Gold Hunter Calibre 19’’ from 1927, the Montblanc Star Legacy timepieces feature round cases with a curved finish on the sides, giving a refined and shaped pebble effect, along with horns that have steps on the sides.
In the spirit of classical watchmaking, the crowns stand out with their recognisable and easy-grip onion-shape, adorned on the side with the recognisable Montblanc emblem.
Montblanc watches new collection: Montblanc Star Legacy Suspended Exo Tourbillon Limited Edition 58
The new patented Suspended Exo Tourbillon complication was developed over three years entirely in-house by the master watchmakers at the Montblanc Manufacture.
The “Exo” is derived from the Greek for external or outside and refers to the large balance wheel with screws, which is positioned outside of the tourbillon’s rotating cage.
The idea was to create a one-minute tourbillon that would be more visible, further revealing its beauty.
This particular patented construction allows a large and impressive balance wheel, eliminating the need to increase the size of the movement or the case. The massive balance wheel is raised 3.2 mm higher than the dial and appears to be floating above it – possible thanks to a new tourbillon bridge with only one stainless steel arm that is curved and mirrors the domed hour circle at 12 o’clock. It creates a three-dimensional look and a new fine watchmaking aesthetic.
In terms of performance, the Exo Tourbillon saves more energy than a conventional tourbillon as the cage is smaller in size and free of the weight of the balance wheel.
Another key feature is the speed of its rotations.
The cage completes one full rotation per minute and thus is able to also indicate the seconds, while exhibiting the beauty of the tourbillon’s movement.
The large balance wheel, beating at the traditional frequency of 18,000 oscillations per hour, has a diameter of 14.5 mm. The calibre MB M16.68 movement is entirely made and decorated in-house with hand-crafted finishings.
Entirely polished, the 44.8 mm case comes in 18K red gold and features a sapphire crystal on the case back that reveals not only the movement but also provides a totally transparent view of the Exo Tourbillon from the front to the back.
A small plaque with the timepiece’s limited edition number has been applied to the dial that balances the Exo Tourbillon’s bridge construction.
Limited to 58 pieces, the timepiece comes with a black alligator leather strap from the Montblanc Pelletteria and is equipped with a triple folding clasp with security pushers. A limited edition of 28 is also available with a case set with 54 baguette diamonds of 2.35 cts.
Montblanc watches new collection: Montblanc Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph
Montblanc reinterprets its 2008 Nicolas Rieussec monopusher chronograph, which pays tribute to the French watchmaker Nicolas Rieussec who invented the first inking chronograph in 1821. In this new version, the silvery-white dial has been entirely reworked to allow better visibility. The off-centred hour-circle and the chronograph’s titanium turning discs have been domed, giving a three-dimensional effect. A ring with the Nicolas Rieussec inscription has been applied on the outer part of the dial.
The timepiece features a newly designed 44.8 mm round case with curved finishing on the sides, and horns that have steps on the sides. A domed sapphire crystal glass surrounds the three-dimensional dial and gives a refined pebble effect. Other details include a recognisable and easy-grip onion-shape crown adorned with the Montblanc emblem. Powered by the iconic monopusher chronograph movement with automatic winding, the Calibre MB R200 is equipped with a column-wheel mechanism that controls the monopusher chronograph. The movement has two barrels with 72 hours of power reserve. A second time zone is displayed via a skeletonised hand on the off-centred dial. Water-resistant to 30 metres, the watch is fitted with a new matching blue Sfumato alligator leather strap from the Montblanc Pelletteria and is equipped with a triple folding clasp.
Montblanc Star Legacy Automatic Chronograph

The pure silvery-white dial features re-designed black Arabic numerals, classic blued leaf-shaped hands, a refined filet sauté guilloche, and a unique railway minute track that encircles the dial and counters. Equipped with the automatic movement calibre MB 25.02, the Automatic Chronograph indicates the hours, minutes, seconds, and date, as well as the chronograph’s indications with central hand and counters. The timepiece comes in a rounded 42 mm stainless steel case with curved horns and steps on the side, an onion-shaped crown with the Montblanc emblem, and a curved finish on the side of the case itself, giving a refined pebble effect, and is completed with a blue Sfumato alligator leather strap from the Montblanc Pelletteria.

Montblanc Star Legacy Moonphase
The Montblanc Star Legacy Moonphase features a refined moonphase complication that shows the current phase of the moon in the lunar cycle, as well as highlighting the illuminated portion of the moon, as it would be seen from Earth. Displayed in an aperture at six o’clock, the moonphase combined with a date brings elegant and refined proportions to the dial. Carrying all the Star Legacy design codes, the watch, which is equipped with the automatic movement Calibre MB 29.14, is housed in a 42 mm round stainless steel case, with refined curved horns with distinctive facets, and comes in a variety of materials and straps.
Montblanc Star Legacy Full Calendar
The Montblanc Star Legacy Full Calendar indicates the hours, minutes, seconds combined with day, date, month and moonphase in the simplest and most elegant of ways. The date is indicated by a hand that culminates in a little red crescent that sweeps along a wreath of thirty-one digits around the dial’s periphery. The day of the week and the month appear in apertures, while the lower half of the dial is reserved for the moonphase display. All the codes of the Star Legacy collection are present in this watch, which comes in a 42 mm stainless steel case and is equipped with the automatic calibre MB 29.12. The silvery-white dial matches perfectly with the blue Sfumato alligator leather strap from the Montblanc Pelletteria.
