OMEGA congratulates completion of first-ever solar flight around the world

As a Main Partner of Solar Impulse, which recently completed the first-ever round-the-world solar-powered flight, OMEGA congratulates Bertrand Piccard, André Borschberg and the entire Solar Impulse team. Solar Impulse also set a number of records including the new world record for a solo endurance flight. OMEGA has not only provided capital but has also made key technological contributions, such as a performance simulation and testing system for the project, the OMEGA Instrument – an easy-to-read device that assists the pilot during approach and landing – a landing light system that weighs only about a kilogram, and an energy dispatcher that can transfer energy from one engine to another.
