The 10th edition of Only Watch, under the patronage of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, was held on May 10, 2024, at Geneva, and raised CHF 28.3 million for research into Duchenne muscular dystrophy
This 10th edition, with 47 exclusive creations of exceptional beauty donated by 52 brands, was held under the hammer of Christie’s at Geneva’s Palexpo Congress Centre, bringing together the international luxury watchmaking community, collectors and watch enthusiasts from all over the world in support of research into Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The non-profit sale raised CHF 28.3 million. True to its motto, ‘create beauty to do good’, Only Watch aims to raise funds to accelerate research into Duchenne muscular dystrophy and has raised more than CHF 128 million since 2005.
The event, which marked the launch of the Spring watch sales, was attended by more than 500 collectors, brands, journalists, and influencers from around the world. The session opened with a speech by Tess Pettavino, Managing Director of the AMM, followed by a speech by Luc Pettavino, Chairman of the non-profit organisation, who read a warm message from H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco before handing over the podium to the Christie’s auctioneer. For more than 2.5 hours, the auction was full of twists and turns, surprises, and suspense, before a particularly committed and enthusiastic audience eager to support Only Watch. All the lots were acquired, in some cases after spectacular auctions. The total value of the Only Watch 2024 sale was CHF 28,320,000, equivalent to € 28,999,680 euros or US31,152,000 US dollars.
