Panerai opens first pop-up in Middle East
Panerai, the Florentine luxury watchmaker opened its first-ever pop-up store in the region at The Dubai Mall
The new pop-up store ran from October 20 to November 9, 2021. Its distinctive design was a clear reminder of the world of the sea and the glorious past of the brand, whose roots are embedded in the history of the Italian Navy. Clients were invited to live a one-of-a-kind shopping experience while closely discovering the maison’s legacy and its unique approach to innovation as the pioneer in new material research.
Gaby Bitarian, Brand Director, PANERAI MEI, explained that the opening of the pop-up was a milestone for Panerai in the region. The brand, he explained, kept growing and the marque wanted to offer their clients new experiences to bring them closer to the Panerai universe.
A wide range of Panerai watches were showcased including the iconic Luminor; Panerai unveiled to the public its latest release, the Luminor GMT Spirit of the Union (PAM01971), at the pop-up. This limited edition of 200 pieces is only available at Panerai boutiques in the UAE.
The n000/200 watch of this edition was auctioned in collaboration with Christie’s. All proceeds went to the Noor Dubai Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation based in the UAE, which is active in the prevention of blindness and visual impairment globally. While the timepiece had an estimated price of US$ 8,000 – 16,000, it finally sold for US$ 27,500.
Alongside this exclusive piece, the distinguished historical collections Radiomir and Submersible were also showcased. Each collection came with different models in various materials, case sizes, dial designs, strap selections, and functions.
