Panerai Submersible Watches
It was in 1860 that Giovanni Panerai opened his watchmaker’s shop on Ponte alle Grazie in Florence: serving not only as a watch shop and workshop but also as the city’s first watchmaking school. By 1916, Panerai was already meeting the military needs of the Royal Italian Navy, supplying it with high precision instruments. Panerai watches are a natural blend of Italian design, Swiss technology, and passion for the sea. The brand’s offerings this year is focused around its Submersibles; we bring you a sneak peek at some of them here…
Panerai Submersible BMG-TECH – 47mm
The exceptional strength and resistance of BMG-TECH and the lightness of carbotech are combined in a new professional diving watch, the Panerai Submersible BMG-TECH. The clear indications on the dial – with its prominent small seconds dial and date window – provide excellent visibility. The watch is water-resistant to 300 metres, and features the in-house P.9010 automatic calibre, with a 3-day power reserve. The hours can be adjusted, independently, thanks to the device that moves the hour hand forwards or backwards in one-hour jumps.
Panerai Submersible – 42mm
Panerai adds two diving watches in 42 mm stainless steel, with an applied ceramic disc on the rotating bezel. Housing the OP XXXIV Manufacture automatic calibre movement with a 3-day power reserve, the watches have an AISI 316L stainless steel case, with the winding crown-protector, the unidirectional rotating bezel to display dive-duration, and are water-resistant to 300 metres. The PAM00683 has the dial, the ceramic disc on the rotating bezel, and the rubber strap all in black, with luminous white markers; the PAM00959 has a blue ceramic disc surrounding the dial and a blue rubber strap with a distinctively textured shark grey dial. Both feature the date at 3 o’clock, with the small seconds – and a seconds hand in Panerai blue – at 9 o’clock, and come with two straps.
Panerai Submersible Carbotech
Panerai presents two new professional diving watches in 47 mm and 42 mm. The case, the rotating bezel, and the winding crown-protector are of carbotech. Water-resistant to 300 metres, they are fitted with a rotating bezel for calculating dive-duration. The dial is black, with Super-LumiNova hour markers in two different colours, ensuring excellent visibility. The strap is of black rubber. The 47 mm watch houses the P.9010 calibre while the 42 mm uses the smaller OP XXXIV calibre, with a 3-day power reserve, the date at 3 o’clock and the small seconds dial at 9 o’clock.
