Patrick Dempsey tours TAG Heuer’s manufacture
In his recent travel to Europe for a motoring race, Hollywood actor Patrick Dempsey made a pit stop at the TAG Heuer manufacture to learn more about the brand’s rich heritage
The Swiss avant-garde watchmaker, TAG Heuer, accommodated a very important guest in its manufacture at La Chaux de Fonds in Switzerland on the 24th of August, 2015. Patrick Dempsey, the TAG Heuer Friend of the Brand, made a pit stop at the workshop before he continued to race at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium and at the Nürburgring in Germany.
Jean-Claude Biver, CEO of Tag Heuer and President of LVMH’s Watch Division, welcomed Dempsey, who was a first time visitor at the manufacture, and showed him the inner workings of watchmaking.
The ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ lead actor then spent quite ample of time with the watchmakers in the ateliers. Impressed by the diligence and incredible talent of the watchmakers, the actor and racer asked them a lot of questions, and even tried to assemble a movement on his own.
At the end of his visit at the workshop, Dempsey received a sizeable chunk of homemade cheese from Jean-Claude Biver as well as warm wishes on the racecourse from the whole team at TAG Heuer.
His team, the Dempsey Motor Racing Team, supported by TAG Heuer, finished second in their category GTAM at this year’s edition of the renowned 24 Hours of Le Mans with 331 laps at an average speed of 205 km/h.
