Perrelet Turbine, now in black

Decked out in black from head to toe, the Turbine Carbon Black Edition from Perrelet fully meets the expectations of watch enthusiasts who love bold yet classic and refined designs. To achieve the ‘Total Black’ look, the case, the dial, the iconic turbine, and the strap are dyed black
With an improved water-resistance of 10 ATM, compared to the traditional 5 ATM adopted by the Swiss Maison in previous collections, the central body of the case of this edition is composed of polycarbonate and carbon fibre. Its extreme lightness, robustness, excellent thermal insulation capacity, and resistance to chemical agents and temperature variations make it ideal. The bezel and caseback are of matte black PVD-coated stainless steel.
The 44 mm case has a sporty-chic look thanks to the smooth bezel and the distinctive fluted case middle. The flat matte bezel frames the black dial, which spins into action with the turbine. Perrelet’s iconic, dynamic 12-blade black anodised aluminium turbine starts rotating with every movement of the wrist.
As both elements are tone-on-tone, the optical effect created during the turbine’s maximum rotation speed seems to make it vanish into thin air. Thanks to the five counterweights placed beneath the blades, when the oscillation slows down, the turbine re-emerges in all its beauty and returns to its original position.
Applied Arabic numerals and black indices are read with the central hour and minute hands. The only light notes are the white indications for the seconds on the flange, as well as the company logo and the ‘Swiss Made’ inscription. The display is protected by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, highly resistant to shocks and scratches.
The engine driving the timepiece is the manufacture P-331-MH automatic movement beating at 28,800 vph and offering 42 hours of power reserve when fully wound. Recently conceived, this new-generation calibre P-331-MH benefits from substantial modifications compared to its predecessor. The teeth of the escape wheel have an improved surface finish, and the pallet is fitted with superior quality rubies, ensuring higher performance and an impeccable degree of reliability. The new lubricating system of the reversers guarantees the optimum performance of the bi-directional winding system. The balance wheel is also fitted with a double-cone Incabloc shock absorber that increases protection against impact, with excellent precision and reliability guaranteed by the Chronofiable and COSC certifications.
The black PDV steel caseback secures the sapphire crystal porthole enabling the owner to admire the circular-grained decoration on the plate and the open-worked rhodium-plated oscillating weight embellished with the Maison’s logo. A water-resistant black calf skin strap with a black rubber lining, enlivened with grey topstitching, completes the watch, which is delivered in a special ‘tactical box’ with an additional rubber strap and a fastening tool.
