Pomellato launches Pom Pom Dot collection

Pomellato hosted a soirée magnifique in its newly ‘button-decorated’ Paris boutique on April 3, 2024, to celebrate the launch of its cheerful new Pom Pom Dot collection. Celebrities, influencers, and friends of the brand gathered to get the first peek of the precious button-inspired jewels – a new collection that truly encapsulates the understated elegance of Milan

The boutique, its façade redecorated with larger-than life ‘Pom Pom Dots,’ welcomed the guests who danced to the beats of Parisian DJ Claire-Marie. The new collection is a reinterpretation of an iconic 1974 necklace from Pomellato’s design heritage.

Spotted at the Pom Pom Dot event were several celebrities and brand ambassadors, adorned with high jewellery from Pomellato. These included French actress Camille Razat, American actress Storm Reid, Italian actress Benedetta Porcaroli, Italian-Senegalese model Amina Seck, and American actress and model Larsen Thompson.

Pom Pom Dot collection
The new Pom Pom Dot collection from Pomellato is a joyful new range of double-sided jewellery – a clever innovation that offers jewellery lovers two stone options in each pendant or bracelet. Creating joy is important for Pomellato and the house infuses every jewel it makes with this feeling. The positivity of Pomellato is expressed in the brightly coloured gemstones and diamonds, the tactile pleasure of softly contoured rose gold, and the playfulness of varying proportions.

The design is based on a button, a motif that forms part of Pomellato’s design heritage – a gold necklace from 1974 – an inspiring detail that conveys many messages. Drawing on the button’s historical significance, both as a functional accessory and talisman, Pom Pom Dot’s soft round silhouette becomes a modern-day emblem of connection and protection.

Transformed into a precious jewel, Pom Pom Dot reminds us to appreciate the simple, everyday pleasures that make life happy and beautiful. With a touch of fun, Pom Pom Dot’s fresh look evokes the light-hearted side of Milanese fashion and invites us to focus on the positive aspects of life. The name Pom Pom Dot reflects this cheerful spirit, recalling both the house of Pomellato and the delight of colourful pom poms.

The discs flip over to reveal a different gem, offering an unexpected and spontaneous way to wear the same jewel in several ways. The fashionably chic colours of the Pom Pom Dot jewels are easy to mix and match or stack and bring a refreshing sense of fun to easy-to-wear jewellery. The jewels are offered in three variants. The first features green malachite on one side and mother-of-pearl on the other. The second features dazzling white diamonds on one side and mother-of-pearl on the other. The third variant combines grey mother-of-pearl on one side and white mother-of-pearl on the other. With a simple flip, each pendant or bracelet allows the wearer to choose which colour to wear.

Each stone brings positive force: malachite emanates a harmonious energy that promotes inner peace and hope. Diamonds bring courage and strength, and mother-of-pearl is associated with well-being as it protects and balances the emotions. Grey mother-of-pearl reflects the qualities of wisdom and patience.

True to Pomellato’s Milanese design influences, the Pom Pom Dot embraces the beauty of understated elegance. Goldsmithing expertise is visible down to the smallest detail. The pleasing, round shape of the disc is achieved by the meticulous refinement of every component in gold. Each pendant and bracelet has a ‘gold thread’ that runs through both sides of the button. One side of the ‘gold thread’ is in sleek rose gold while the other side is embellished with white diamonds.

To complete the line, Pomellato also introduces three pairs of earrings – presented in malachite, diamond pavé, or white mother-of-pearl – that sit snugly on the lobe. A statement of modernity and versatility, Pom Pom Dot, Pomellato’s youngest range of jewels, is sure to bring a smile to jewellery lovers worldwide.
