RJ-Romain Jerome steps up its game

The PAC-MAN™ video game is one of the most successful arcade games of the 1980’s. Originally released in Japan, the video game has scored masses of players throughout the world. Celebrating 35 years of continuous success, BANDAI NAMCO Games Inc. has teamed up with watch-makers RJ-Romain Jerome to create five new timepieces to add to the Manufacture’s Collaborations collection; The PAC-MAN™ Level II collection. Acquired by the Museum of Modern Art in New York as part of its Architecture and Design collection, PAC-MAN™ is one of the most recognised games in history, with its hungry pixelated characters that move through a maze to “eat” Pac-dots and fruit.
RJ-Romain Jerome rekindles childhood feelings with three new models that come in an exclusive black PVD-coated titanium finish. The renowned arcade characters are frozen in a 46mm Moon Invader case where the dial exhibits the four legendary ghosts of PAC-MAN™; Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde in the midst of playing an exciting game. The characters and fruit exposed on the dial have been meticulously crafted piece by piece and applied by hand and gem-set. Each character has been lacquered in its original colour, or with black superluminova “blue emission”, recreating the game sequences. Additionally, this new collection features a frozen scene, where the yellow hero has just eaten an “Energizer”, which temporarily turns the ghosts blue, making them vulnerable to his quest. The entertaining dial has been painstakingly crafted with three different levels that has been engraved with a pixelated matrix, giving depth to the 3D face of the watch. For those who prefer a smaller case, two 40mm models are available in black PVD-coated steel.
The PAC-MAN™ Level II, the PAC-MAN™ Level II Dark Ghosts and the PAC-MAN™ Level II Colours model, are all powered by a RJ001-A calibre with a mechanical self-winding movement which has a power reserve of 42 hours. The 46mm case has a central hours and minutes function and is water resistant to 30 meters. The PAC-MAN™ Level II 40 Dark Ghosts model and The PAC-MAN™ Level II 40 Colours model have the same functions as its sisters, but comes in a 40mm case with a RJ003-A calibre that features a mechanical self-winding movement, a power reserve of 40 hours and is water resistant to 30 meters. Limited to just 20 pieces per model, each timepiece is completed with a black rubber strap and steel buckle. The PAC-MAN™ Level II collection is a testimony to RJ-Romain Jerome’s dedication and appreciation for the icons of the 1980’s, working hard to bring legends back into modern times.
