SIAR 2023 concludes highly successful edition

The Salon International Alta Relojería México (SIAR) concluded its 17th edition with successful attendance and the launch of more than 20 international releases and Mexican editions

With 3,964 participants and over 230 accredited journalists this year, SIAR was the platform for presenting iconic models from renowned brands. IWC introduced the Pilot’s Watch Timezoner Top Gun Woodland and Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Top Gun Mojave Desert. Other debuts include Chopard’s Alpine Eagle XL Chrono Maritime Blue, Le Régulateur Louis Erard x Alain Silberstein Tourbillon, Cvstos Chrono Sprint Steel/Sky Blue, Gerarld Charles Maestro 3.0 Chronograph, Maestro 2.0 Ultra-Thin, and Leica ZM11. Some models made their first appearance at a watch exhibition on this stage in Mexico City. These include Vacheron Constantin Traditionelle Manual, Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Chronograph Calendar, Speake-Marin Academic Rouge, Backes & Strauss The Berkeley Helios, and Perrelet Turbine Titanium.

Several brands created very exclusive pieces, such as De Bethune’s Cempasúchil II, Chopard’s L.U.C Skull One Calavera Pop Art, Jacob & Co.’s Epic X Chrono Edición México, and Baume & Mercier’s Riviera 42 mm Limited Edition Mexico, all inspired by Mexican culture.

Biver chose SIAR as the destination to showcase their first creation to the public, a minute repeater with carillon. Attendees at the salon celebrated their unique piece, La Danse du Temps, inspired by Mexico’s Day of the Dead. While Tudor returned after eight years, other brands – such as Longines, Seiko, Gerald Charles, the brand founded by Gerald Genta, Leica watches – made their first appearance.
