Launched in 1977, the highly innovative Sport Classic collection featured the distinctive five screws, smooth texture, sensual curves, and iconic design that would become brand identifiers. This truly unique design statement established the sport-chic style in the late 1970s and became an icon of Swiss watchmaking. In 2018, EBEL is unveiling a selection of new timepieces in this collection.
EBEL Sport Classic Mini Tribute
The EBEL Sport Classic Mini Tribute is a stylishly feminine must-have timepiece that reflects this current vogue. Housed in a petite and decidedly on-trend 24 mm case, this model makes a bold vintage statement with the five functional screws, classic wave bracelet, striking Roman numerals, and two-tone design that have become the trademarks of EBEL’s most iconic collection.
EBEL Sport Classic Automatic
The EBEL Sport Classic Automatic two-tone model will be available from mid-2018 in a 29 mm ladies’ version and a 40 mm gents’ version. Brushed stainless steel contrasts beautifully with polished 18k red gold on the case, while the silver dial provides a stunning backdrop for the rose-gold-plated Roman numerals and hands and the opulent applied indexes. A sapphire crystal case back affords an unhindered view of the ETA 2000-1 automatic movement.
EBEL Sport Classic with elegant ivory and anthracite dials
The EBEL Sport Classic model is now available in ivory or anthracite dials, housed in a distinctive 29 mm two-tone hexagonal case in stainless steel, and 18k yellow gold-and-stainless steel with five functional screws. The flat, tapered, and flexible bracelet with the iconic wave links in an alternating brushed and polished finish in stainless steel and yellow gold PVD flows seamlessly into the case. The combination of yellow-gold-plated Roman numerals and hands with diamond indexes lend this model a truly luxurious feel.
EBEL Sport Classic Table Clock
As part of the re-launch of the EBEL Sport Classic, an iconic creation from the legendary collection is returning in June 2018: the table clock. This striking timepiece is a perfect replica of the wristwatch in almost every respect, with a two-tone stainless steel-and-gold PVD finish, alternating polished and brushed surfaces, bold Roman numerals, and the trademark five functional screws. The wave design on the back of the clock is a nod to the wristwatch’s iconic wave bracelet – the only obvious difference is the clock’s size. A simple yet elegant design with numerals and minute markers painted in black against a pure white dial and a Swiss quartz movement that also powers a 24-hour hand, the Sport Classic table clock, with a diameter of 79.5 mm, cuts a fine figure on any table, cabinet, or nightstand.

The EBEL Sport Classic model in stainless steel comes in a 29 mm ladies’ quartz version and a 40 mm gents’ automatic version. A stylishly luxurious timepiece, this model features an alternating brushed and polished finish that exudes understated elegance. The anthracite dial provides the perfect contrast to the rhodium-plated Roman numerals and facetted, diamond-polished rhodium-plated hands. Eight diamond index markers add a touch of feminine chic to the ladies’ model, while the gents’ model has a more technical feel with its flat, diamond-polished rhodium-plated sweep seconds hand.
EBEL Sport Classic 24mm MOP
This epitome of signature two-tone chic and diamonds confirms the current resolutely feminine petite-sized trend. The deliberately downscaled 24mm brushed stainless steel and 18K gold case with its diamond-studded bezel frames a shimmering white mother-of-pearl dial graced with diamond hour-markers. The tapered links and flat surface of the emblematic wave bracelet have been retained, while the new wave shape is more elegantly pronounced. The EBEL Sport Classic 24mm MOP is water-resistant to 5 ATM.
EBEL Discovery Gent
In 2018, the latest streamlined 41 mm stainless steel Discovery Gent takes the current green watchmaking trend to lush new heights. This new lacquered dial in striking jade-green is offset by crisp white minute scale and complemented by a rhodium-plated EBEL symbol at 12:00. The rhodium-plated Arabic numerals and hands are enhanced with Super-LumiNova to ensure optimal legibility in all lighting conditions. Powered by a quartz ETA movement for unerring reliability, this timepiece sports a trademark EBEL brushed and polished stainless steel bracelet and folding clasp. The ideal accessory for chic, modern male adventurers, the Discovery Gent Green Dial is water-resistant to 100 meters.
