The unique Nixie Machine clock glows in design

The M.A.D. Gallery presented the Nixie Machine, a jaw-dropping, sculptural clock featuring beautifully glowing Nixie tubes, which was unveiled during the Geneva Wonder Week. Created by German artist Frank Buchwald, the clock is crafted out of burnished steel and brushed brass and features six Nixie tubes. Each of the machine’s glowing six digits is displayed via an original, incredibly preserved Z568M Nixie tube manufactured by RFT in East Germany during the 1960s and recently discovered in a Bulgarian army depot.  Limited to just 12 pieces, the stunning retro-futuristic design bears four legs and body-like symmetry that could have stepped straight out of a sci-fi movie.
