Time-Eaters from Louis Erard x Konstantin Chaykin

Founded by Mr Louis Erard in 1929, this independent brand is renowned for its mechanical watches and its iconic regulators. Today, continuing the work of its founder and honouring the watchmaking tradition, the Maison is revisiting its artistic crafts and opening up its field of expression through collaborations and exchanges of know-how. This year, Louis Erard is collaborating with Konstantin Chaykin to offer two unique grotesque Time-Eaters

Le Régulateur Louis Erard x Konstantin Chaykin
The collaboration between Louis Erard and Konstantin Chaykin has given birth to a strange creature – the Time-Eater where the hour is a single, large, round eye. The new timepiece respects the architecture of Louis Erard’s signature regulator, with central minute, hour at noon and second at six o’clock. Konstantin Chaykin has built the face with one eye – Likho’s eye, the evil eye of Slavic tales. The small second at six o’clock is dressed in a disc with pointed teeth, turning like the devouring mouth of an ogre. The central minute hand crosses the dial and gives it “two hands turning in a circle”. The creature is completed with a black toad strap and comes in two versions. A purple hour circle for the 39 mm piece and a green one for the 42 mm. The two versions form a diptych limited to only 28 pieces.
