Zenith experiences a touch of adventure

French Dakar rally champion, Stéphane Peterhansel, is the latest personality to have joined the renowned list of brand ambassadors that represent luxury Swiss watch manufacturer, Zenith

At the tender age of eight, Stéphane Peterhansel climbed aboard his first motorbike when his passion for adventure ignited. At fourteen years old, he became the French skateboarding Champion and went on to begin a career racing motorbikes. With several titles under his belt, his career advanced to car rally racing where he found his forte.

This year, Stéphane Peterhansel has embarked on a new challenge by participating in the Dakar 2015 racing competition for Team Peugeot Total, where a combination of endurance and determination is essential. Already the champion of three Dakar Car Rally competitions, he is hoping to add a fourth title to his track record.

Speaking about his latest position at Zenith, he says, “Becoming part of this family now has real meaning to me. I have always loved watches and I have dreamed for many years of being able to own a Zenith. Today, I am lucky enough to be wearing an El Primero Lightweight, a super light watch ideal for accompanying me on new adventures.”

Zenith’s El Primero Lightweight timepiece is a limited edition. It has the lightest chronograph calibre on the market weighing just 15.9g. The 45mm aluminium case is surprisingly light for a diameter that size and is it measures 13.2mm in thickness.
